Program Description
The Soil and Water Outcomes Fund (SWOF)is committed to bringing the best opportunities to farmers who are looking to add or scale conservation practices on their fields. Farmers enrolled in our program earn an average of $33 per acre each year.
SWOF aims to provide a simple and transparent process. A few key points that set our program apart are:
- As part of Iowa Soybean Association, we answer to farmers.
- Farmer contracts have one-year terms. The decision to re-enroll in subsequent years lies with you.
- A payment offer is provided prior to contract signing.
- Once a contract is signed, payments are made in two installments: 50% is paid prior to verification, and 50% is paid afterward.
- The final payment is guaranteed to farmers as long as they implement the conservation practices outlined in the contract.
- There is no acreage minimum or maximum required for enrollment; we are designed to scale at the rate you want to.
- Our field rep team is available for technical and agronomic support throughout your time in the program.
- As an independent program, we don’t require farmers to have any other type of customer relationship with us.
Deadlines:
Enrollment closes once we reach our acre funding cap for the year. Enrollment season usually opens in March. Winter-kill cover crops, such as oats or turnips, must be under contract by 10/1.
